was published by aumbild-Verlag Otto Schonstein in Munich in 1940 for the Oberst des Generalstabes Hasso von Wedel,
Abteilungschef im Oberkommando der Wehrmacht and Reichsamtsleiter Henrich Hansen of the Reichspressestelle der NSDAP.
The subject of the photos in this book is the Blitzkrieg in Poland in 1939 and the divisions of that country between the invading German and the Russian armies. There are a lot of photos by the Oberkommando der Wehrmacht and Heinrich Hoffmann of German troops and equipment. Many of these photos feature Hitler and his giant off-road Mercedes combat car.

Gelsenkirchener Bergwerks-AG (abbreviated GBAG, Gebag or Gelsenberg)
was a German mining company based in Gelsenkirchen and Essen.
Due to the intensive gas industry between the coking plants and blast furnaces
supplying blast furnace gas, GBAG also held a 26 percent stake in Ruhrgas AG,

Perfect silver plating!
Relatively Rare, this one is in great shape. Nice piece! The pin featured here belonged to the NSBO, which went out of existence in 1934. It later became the GDAO, one of the labor unions of the Third Reich. The design of the pin consists of a gear with a hammer in front of it. At the base there are a couple of laurels and corn nuts. A swastika is placed midpoint of the handle of the hammer. A rectangular sign rests in the lower section and has the letters GDAO in block format. Made by the prestigious Deschler firm, and the quality shows.

The "Legion Francaise des Combattants" or "French Combatants Legion"
was formed in 1940 that consisted mainly of veterans supporting Petain.
They were only allowed in the unoccupied zone with 1.5million members in 1942.
This shield shaped, metal alloy and enamel lapel badge, measures approximately

Scarce U.S. Army publication, the official U.S. 7th Army report on the concentration camp at Dachau, 72pp. 4to., prepared and distributed to members of the unit by its Office of Strategic Services (OSS) section following the discovery of the camp by elements of the unit in April of 1945. The publication is made up of three separate reports, submitted by the 7th Army's Psychological Warfare Branch, Counter-Intelligence Detachment, and the OSS itself, with an introduction by the unit's Acting Chief of Staff, Col. William W. Quinn. The OSS report focuses on the organization of the camp and the makeup of its prisoner population, while the PWB section summarizes the relationship between the camp and the town of Dachau. The CIC section reports on the liberation of the camp on April 29, 1945, and contains descriptions of life at the camp and the brutality faced by its prisoners, bolstered by several eyewitness statements. Constructed of Silvered Tombak, the obverse consisting of a detailed
Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, above a trapezoidal
plaque bearing a raised date of '1939', the reverse with a block hinge and
tapering vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, unmarked, measuring
45.32 mm (w) x 30.80 mm (h), weighing 9.8 grams, nice dark patina
-NEVER CLEANED, in overall near extremely fine condition.
The black coloring on reverse is patina-no missing silver finish.
The black patina is from when it was on a uniform for a long time
exposed to the atmosphere.
This Spange has been valued up to $650.00 online by various dealers.
Note: This variation is an example of a design produced by an unknown manufacturer

Great Britain, France, Italy, Germany and the United States had their best drivers and cars to race in a 300 mile dirt track competition in Roosevelt Raceway in Long Island. The Vanderbilt Cup was the first major trophy in American auto racing. An international event, it was founded by William Kissam Vanderbilt II in 1904. There were no races in 1907, 1913, and 1917-1935. The Vanderbilt Cup was not held again until 1936 when William Kissam Vanderbilt II's nephew, George Washington Vanderbilt III picked up the cause and sponsored a 300-mile (480 km) race at the new facilities at Roosevelt Raceway.
