FALLSCHIRMTRUPPE SUPPLY POINT TRIANGULAR SIGN:
THIS SIGN WAS FOUND ON A TRIP TO VERONA, ITALY IN 1977. AT THE TIME I WAS STATIONED IN VICENZA, ITALY WITH THE U.S. ARMY. AN ITALIAN MILITARIA COLLECTOR HAD TOLD US OF THE "SURPLUS" STORE
THAT ALL OF THE ITALIANS WENT TO IN VERONA. AS WE GOT OUT OF THE CAR TO GO INTO THE STORE, WE ALL COMMENTED THAT THE WAREHOUSE DOORS ACROSS THE STREET SURE LOOKED LIKE IT HAD BEEN PAINTED WITH LUFTWAFFE BLUE HELMET PAINT.
WHEN WE WERE IN THE STORE, WE FOUND TROPICAL ISSUE, ITALIAN MADE PARATROOPER KNEE AND ELBOW PADS. WE INQUIRED AFTER MORE OF THEM AND THE FELLOW TOOK US ACROSS THE STREET TO THE WAREHOUSE.
AS HE FUMBLED WITH HIS KEYS, WE NOTED WHERE A TRIANGULAR SHIELD HAD BEEN REMOVED AT ONE TIME FROM THE DOOR. THE AREA HAD BEEN PAINTED OVER SEVERAL TIMES, BUT THE OUTLINE WAS STILL THERE.
