An exceptional Deutsche Arbeitsfront Poster (in conjunction with 'Kraft Durch Freude') designed for the district Gauleitung Oberdonau (Reichsgau Upper Danube) an administrative division of Nazi Germany created after the Anschluss (annexation of Austria) in 1938 and dissolved in 1945. It consisted of what is today Upper Austria, parts of Southern Bohemia, and a small part of the Saltzkammergut which was annexed from Styria.
Wonderful condition, no tears marks or blemishes. Measures 42 x 29 cms (16.5 x 11.4 ins). It has been carefully folded exactly in the centre, a fold which is barely visible (see photos).It will be sent in a crushproof tube so no creasing or damage will be possible.

Two German POW letters written by the same man on 4th March and 1st April 1945. The letters were sent by Josef (Pepi) Vrbka (Nr. 31G 727354) to his parents and are quite touching as he explains how much he misses them and his wife. In one letter he actually asks his father to paint the garden shed door green to stop it warping! The letters appear to have been sent from US Army PWTB France and stamped Base 1057. There is a pencil line drawn through the Reumannplatz address on one envelope and a wavy line through the address on the other and the corrected address is written in pencil beneath. It must be presumed that the house at the original address was possibly bombed or destroyed. Interestingly these letters were written in the last few days of the War and I can only assume that Pepi was captured by the Americans in France or Germany itself.
There is some light blue water staining on the paper which can be seen in the detailed photographs but all the writing is neat and clear.

A wonderful Stenographers Membership Qualification Award. Absolutely outstanding condition, virtually unmarked. Unusual and very rare, especially in this condition. It measures 16.5 x 11.8 cms (6.5 x 4.7 ins).

SA `Urkunde` (Certificate) Sports Award in Bronze Booklet WITH it`s rather rare cover. An outstanding example in wonderful virtually unmarked condition made out to Rudolf Welke. Each page is spotless and clearly shows the successful Bronze award with the potential for the Silver and Gold at a later date. The item measures 15.7 x 12.00 cms (4.7 x 6.2 ins).
The SA Sports Badge was a political version of the much more generic German Sports Badge, which was also issued in great numbers by the Nazis. It required tests based on Physical fitness, military defense, and field excercises.

A very nice Deutsches Reich Kennkarte made out to Mathilde Purtz. Fully written up with a very nice portrait photo. Excellent condition, clean and undamaged, firmly held by the two staples, no lose pages.
The Kennkarte has a very slight crease across front which can be clearly seen in the scans, but it is hardly visible.
The Deutsches Reich Kennkarte was the basic identity document in use during the Third Reich era, first introduced in July 1938. They were normally obtained through a police precinct and had the corresponding issuing office and official?s stamps on them. Every German citizen was issued with one and was expected to produce it when confronted by officials.

This is a "Kampf um Rotterdam" (Struggle in Rotterdam) Luftwaffe Poster (Kampf im Rotterdamer Luftwaffenplakat). This is a Luftwaffe propaganda poster dealing with the fall of Rotterdam, Holland. The poster measures 18" (45.7 cm) by 12 (30.5 cm)." The bottom edge is marked "Bild 3" for page three and "Druck und Verlag Gustav Kuhn, Neuruppin" as to the printer. It has some wear to the edges with one small tear on the left side. The poster has been creased in the center from being folded at one time. Will ship it rolled. This poster is very frameable and still in excellent condition for its age. I purchased this poster in 2004 from AAG International.

Johannes "Macky" Steinhoff (15 September 1913 - 21 February 1994) was a Luftwaffe fighter ace during World War II, German general, and NATO official. He was one of very few Luftwaffe pilots who survived to fly operationally through the whole of the war period 1939-45 until he was severely burned during a failed take-off. Steinhoff was also one of the highest-scoring pilots with 176 victories, and one of the first to fly the Messerschmitt Me 262 jet fighter in combat as a member of the Jagdverband 44 squadron led by Adolf Galland. Steinhoff was decorated with the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords, and later received the Grand Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany and several foreign awards including the American Legion of Merit and the French Legion of Honor. World War II German Crimean Shield Krimschild with Award Document for Gustav Havel of the 3rd Battalion, 1st Heavy Howitzer Regiment, 1st Panzerarmee (Army Group South). The Document is signed by the Chief of the General Staff of 1st Panzerarmee, Generalmajor Ernst-Felix F?ckenstedt. The reverse is blank, and clean. These two 1942 ORIGINAL items were acquired together. The Krimschild is a less common, 3 - prong (as opposed to the more common 4 - prong) type. The Bronze wash is about all worn away, exposing the Zinc beneath. It's mounted on dark cloth (black that has faded a bit?), likely from a black panzer tunic.

A formal KC document awarded to Captain Franz Buchner of the 5th Infantry Company on the Leningrad front. Captain Buchner was born in Hungary and served the German cause faithfully in obtaining the Knight's Cross. Ironically, the Captain died less than 2 months later and his remains have not been found. Information regarding the Captain will be forwarded with the document.
Document shows wear, and the spine of the cassette is separated. However, formal KC documents are much rarer than the actual medal as few were issued later in the war due to the amount of time to produce one and the number issued as the war continued.

This is a framed Police Registration Document for Poland with an SS Control Stamp for "Arnold Baum, Baptist." A very intriguing original document from occupied Poland. I generally did not collect documents, but it was of interest to me as his faith was listed as "Baptist." I am hesitant to let it go, but feel another collector might benefit from it in their collection. It measures 6" (15 cm) by 8" (20 cm). It has faded slightly from age, which is understandable, but it is still very legible (the last photo is the one that was used when I purchased it). I am including the black frame with the document. I purchased this in 2002 from Antique Malls Of America in Ohio.
