It is a demonstration model of the limited slip differential of the time. Used to show concepts to students in the mechanized corps of the German Wehrmacht. Virtually a one of a kind item I acquired from the vet's estate in 1976.

From a lot of items found in the estate of a 1st Infantry Division Sgt. Nicely removed from Normandy emplacement by removing screws...NOT pried off with a bayonet!

This is the NSDAP Jugend Brass Buckle - 228(2).22 NSDAP Jugend (SA Koppelschloss mit auf der Spitze stehendem Hakenkreuz Messing mit Auflage). NSDAP-Jugend organization was formed in 1926 and was overseen by the SA thus the SA designation in the German description. It is constructed of gilded brass, the obverse bearing a central raised NSDAP-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, set within a ribbed circular ring bearing oak leaf branches, the reverse with swivel attachment claws, unmarked, measuring 54 mm (w) by 38 mm (h). This is the small size and is in outstanding condition. There is a very small spot of patina on the reverse, but it does not affect the buckle in anyway. This buckle is discussed in "Belt, Buckles, & Brocades

Mid to late War Marked Map Case in mint condition. The sole example which I know of on this planet!
I have seen 1 pair of K.98 ammunition pouches, and a single bayonet frog made from this startlingly different leather.
Like Blue webbing gear for the Luftwaffe Afrikakorps (before 1942) This type of gear must have been either for ubungs (training) or proofungs testing and evaluation) as almost nothing made from it is circulating. I have found no mention of it on any forum or in any reference source either. So much for the big shot experts!
