The obverse is imprinted with a large "S" and the slogan "Ick dien" translates "I serve." This small zinc badge is in excellent condition. I purchased it in 2000 from AAG International.

Great Britain, France, Italy, Germany and the United States had their best drivers and cars to race in a 300 mile dirt track competition in Roosevelt Raceway in Long Island. The Vanderbilt Cup was the first major trophy in American auto racing. An international event, it was founded by William Kissam Vanderbilt II in 1904. There were no races in 1907, 1913, and 1917-1935. The Vanderbilt Cup was not held again until 1936 when William Kissam Vanderbilt II's nephew, George Washington Vanderbilt III picked up the cause and sponsored a 300-mile (480 km) race at the new facilities at Roosevelt Raceway. This medal was a military decoration of the Soviet Union established on May 9th 1945 by decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR to denote military participation in the victory of the Soviet Armed Forces over Nazi Germany.

The shield of the X Division MAS represents a particular and less common variant than the better known one of the X Flotilla MAS. The difference lies in the wording reported: the inscription "Division", used after the transformation of the formation into a unit framed in the National Republican Army of the RSI, replaces the term "Flotilla". The shield was made of enameled metal. This variant had a very limited distribution and for this reason it is considered much rarer than the standard version. Today it is a piece that testifies to the organizational evolution of the Decima and represents an element of great interest for specialized collectors.

Steamer Trunk owned by member of the Manhattan Project.
Dr. Harold M. Agnew was a leading nuclear physicist who worked on the development of the atomic bomb and the first hydrogen bomb. He flew along side the Enola Gay to film the explosion over Hiroshima and went on to become the Director of the Los Alamos National Laboratory. This trunk belonged to Dr. Agnew both before and during his time as director in Los Alamos. The baggage tag that was left inside shows that he sailed from Le Havre France (Normandy) to NY in July of 1964 which is during the time of the 20th anniversary of D-Day. Perhaps he was there to observe the remembrance? Also interesting to note that the trunk belonged to a USAF Major before Dr. Agnew. Perhaps this individual carries some significance as well.
I purchased this trunk from Dr. Agnews grandson who brought it to my consignment store. He told me the family has so many things that belonged to his grandfather he didnt mind parting with the trunk.

This is a RARE set of pins for military staff of General Marshall's headquarters in China. A little-known and understudied piece of WWII and post WWII history. Despite the visual effects of me trying to avoid a glare that make them look different sizes, these pins are a matching set and are the same size - 25MM across and 31MM top to bottom. Rare & Interesting commemorative pin made in 1929
to celebrate the Lateran Pacts between the Kingdom of Italy
and the Catholic Church. The brooch consists of three circular images
of the Duce Benito Mussolini, Pope Pius XI and King Victor Emmanuel III
from which two festoons with the Italian tricolor and the Vatican flag depart.
