It is a vertical, black wool diamond base featuring a black, machine embroidered, Asclepius (serpent entwined on a staff), outlined in silvery/gray rayon threads. The insignia is the same motif as the Medical Officer's badge, but only in outline. The reverse of the insignia retains a semi-translucent, glue like, protective backing.
