This is the NSDAP Jugend Brass Buckle - 228(2).22 NSDAP Jugend (SA Koppelschloss mit auf der Spitze stehendem Hakenkreuz Messing mit Auflage). NSDAP-Jugend organization was formed in 1926 and was overseen by the SA thus the SA designation in the German description. It is constructed of gilded brass, the obverse bearing a central raised NSDAP-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, set within a ribbed circular ring bearing oak leaf branches, the reverse with swivel attachment claws, unmarked, measuring 54 mm (w) by 38 mm (h). This is the small size and is in outstanding condition. There is a very small spot of patina on the reverse, but it does not affect the buckle in anyway. Listing today a substantial artifact a WW2 German Nazi Banner made out of a carpet fabric. Two long-time WW2 dealers have told me they have only seen perhaps 1-2 others.
