Honor gift, a lead crystal vase, trophy shaped, sanded with the inscription: "In memory of the meeting of the SA comrades in small Dehsa on 2 May 1931 and 17 May 1939 - von Tschammer und Osten" 19 cm tall with a width of 8.5cm. No chips or cracks.
Hans von Schammer und Osten, 1887-1943, was a decorated officer in WWI, and joined the SA in 1929. By 1931, he became a SA GROUP LEADER and was a Nazi member of the REICHSTAG in 1932. After the Nazi takeover, Hitler appointed him REICH SPORTS COMMISSIONER in April 1933 and REICH SPORTS LEADER in July 1933. Among his duties, he reorganized sports in Germany, creating the Sports League of the German Reich (DRL). He was president of the German Olympic Committee and was co-organizer of the 1936 games in Berlin. For his service, he was awarded the Golden Membership Badge of the NSDAP. He attended HITLER'S 50TH BIRTHDAY PARTY IN 1939. As Germany focused on war in 1939, hi influenced waned; he died in 1943 of pneumonia. His brother,
