This is a German Hunting Association Deutsche Jagerschaft (RDJ) Membership Badge (Mitgliedsabzeichen der Deutschen Jagerschaft). This Hunting Association Membership Pin is a very nice piece. It is made of aluminum. The front depicts the stag skull emblem of the Deutsche Jagerschaft. It retains complete original detail, with crisp rays around the swastika and fine texture on the stag horns. The original darkening is present in the swastika emblem. The bare aluminum never had any extra finish applied. There is a light old patina present on the obverse. The reverse is flat and smooth. It's marked in raised letters with "GES. GESCH." indicating a legally protected design. The original attachment pin is made of silver painted tombac wire and is functional,
I have two of these. I received these with a grouping of SS insignia that came out of the Bad Toelz Officer School. They were originally stapled to a NSDAP flag. Two Flemish BL-SS lapel badges, and these two sleeve diamonds were in the lot. I have only seen one other sleeve diamond like this in my 60+ years of collecting. The other example came off a uniform. These two badges have been discussed on the WAF, and the consensus is, that they are genuine, and are probably associated with either a prototype or are from an axis ally ( probably Holland or Flemish Belgian). The construction and material are consistent with the German versions, but are lacking the wire cording around the diamond as for an officer. The wool material seems to match that of the SS Polizei. I have nevre seen these listed anywhere, even in the reproductions for sale over the years. They are a true anomoly. I have two, so $350 for one; $600 for both. This is the Kriegsmarine Soldier's and Official's Civilian Clothing Lapel Pin (Anstecknadel fur Zivilkleidung von Soldaten und Beamten der Kriegsmarine). This is a nice quality, fire-gilded, die struck, soldier's and official's civilian clothing lapel pin in the form of a Wehrmacht style eagle with down-swept wings clutching a canted swastika in its talons. The eagle shows nice detailing to its wings and breast and intricate cutouts between its wings, legs, and the arms of the swastika. The fire-gilded finish is fully retained. The solid reverse has its soldered vertical, rifled stickpin intact. The reverse is marked with the "A" of "F.A. Assmann & Sohne, Ludenscheid." This is a hollow backed alloy pin which features the DAF emblem of a cutout, mobile swastika within a fourteen-toothed cog, 18 mm in diameter. Where the cog is smooth, the swastika has raised edges within which is a crosshatched pattern. The reverse is unmarked. This is a round bronze fine zinc badge; the obverse depicting a ride on top of a horse, surrounded by a laurel wreath with an "R" for "Reiter" (German - Equestrian) on the bottom; the reverse plain, with a horizontal pin-back (there is some corrosion on the reverse). This is Nationalsozialistische Frauenschaft (NSF) Enamel Party Member Pin -- Gaufrauenschaftsleiterin [Red Edges] (Nationalsozialistische Frauenschaft (NSF) - Gaufrauenschaftsleiterin im Rot). This is an alloy and enamel badge in the form of an inverted triangle, 28 mm wide along its top edge and 31 mm tall. "Nat Soz Frauenschaft" is to the white band to the top of the obverse, underneath of which is a white cross against a black background. To the center of the cross is a red, static swastika, and "G" is to its left arm, "H" to its right, and "L" to its base. This is the DAF-Frauenwalterinnen Women's Kreis Level Staff Badge [1937 Type 1 with White Edges, EXTREMELY RARE! (Deutsche Arbeitsfront (DAF), Abzeichen fur DAF-Frauenwalterinnen, Orts-Betriebsgemeinschaft/Frauensachbearbeiterin). This particular enameled lapel-pin was intended to signify membership within the "DAF Frauenamt." Unlike their male counterparts, did these female "DAF-Frauenwalterinnen" (i.e.. officials) did not wear a uniform and could be merely identified by a badge as offered here. The example on offer concerns a white-rimmed example (of the second pattern that was used after 1938) as was intended for usage by a "Betriebsfrauenwalterin" that acted on a: 'Kreis'-level. This is a Identification Tag for a Member of the Luftwaffe Sch./Flg.Ausb. Rgt. 63 (Erkennungsmarke fur ein Mitglied des Sch./Flg.Ausb. Rgt. 63 der Luftwaffe). This identification tag is made of embossed aluminum with signs of wear. The obverse bears the inscription "A 935 Sch./Flg. Ausb Rgt. 63." twice divided by three horizontal slots, with three punched holes: two at the six o'clock position and one at the twelve o'clock position. The reverse is plain and unmarked as to a maker. It measures 70 mm (w) by 50 mm (h). It is in outstanding condition.

This is the "NS Frauenschaft" Enamel Badge [Small Size] (Nationalsozialistische Frauenschaft (NSF)). This alloy badge, eighth form, takes the shape of a 23 mm tall inverted triangle whose top edge is 24 mm wide. It features a black enameled central field, edged in silver, upon which is a silver washed mobile sun-wheel swastika above a "Leben-rune" (Life-rune). The top silvered edge of the badge is wider than the sides and features the red enameled Gothic script, "Deutsches Frauenwerk." The Social Welfare Decoration was instituted May 1st 1939 and awarded for merits in the field of the People's Welfare, the Winter Relief, the care of the sick and wounded in peace and war, the rescue, the maintenance of German nationality and the care of German national comrades abroad. It is constructed out of a two piece die stamped tombac base that has been gold fire gilded and contains black and white enamel work and was finished in a protective lacquer coating. This is Luftwaffe Major Gen. Alexander Holle's "1 MAI 1939" Tinnie (Tag der Arbeit Abzeichen 1.Mai 1939). This is a common and standard May Day Rally Aluminum Tinnie. It is maker-marked to the reverse "E. FERD.WIEDMANN, FRANKFURT A.M.S10," What makes this one special is that it came from the estate of Luftwaffe Major General Alexander Holle who was the Luftwaffe Commander of Denmark. I purchased this in 2001 from AAG International on eBay (03/07/01). I am also posting photos of the original worksheets from that auction to prove the authenticity of this piece. For your consideration, a Spanish Cross of the Dead for the 315 volunteers that didn't make it back from Spain. This one awarded to the family of Bernhard Busch on 9-15-1939. Seldom encountered, especially with the document to accompany it. I picked this up from a small dealer in Walnut Creek CA in 1979. Only one I have seen. I do have another medal that I will be posting later. The frame is not original to the piece.
This is an autographed picture and IC 1 from a paratrooper that saw it all. Erich Schuster, with a picture 4 X 6 and his autograph on it. In the upper left hand corner is his IC1, a screwback with the notation L43683 Munchen 2 (Feldpost number?) He served in Belgium, Crete, Leningrad and Tunisia. He was awarded this medal on May 13, 1940 and received the RK on August 21, 1941. He was killed in Tunisia on January 11, 1943 and promoted to Oberleutant at that time.
Wonderful piece of history. The medal is uncleaned and been with the picture for many years. I have owned it since the 90's and enjoyed it as it has been a centerpiece of my collection. I know you will enjoy it too. I have many items, drop me a line to see what treasures might fit into your chest.

This is the "Blut and Boden 1937" (Blood & Soil) Medal for Growing Tobacco (Medaille des Reichsnahrstand-Blut und Boden mit etui). This is a non-wearable award in its original case. On the front of the medal is inscribed "4. Reichsnahrstands Ausstellung Munchen 1937." On the reverse is the single word "Tabak" for tobacco. It comes in its original case which is in almost mint condition. The set is in excellent condition and very collectable. I purchased them in 2001 from a private collector who had just made a trip to Europe.

This is the "1 Mai 1936" Aluminum Tinnie (III. Reich - Mai 1936 Aluminium mit Nadel). This is a solid struck aluminum badge. "1. Mai 1936" is embossed to the upper left of the obverse, underneath of which is a plow, with a large hammer and sword to the right of it, and an eagle and swastika beneath those. "RK," undoubtedly the designer's initials, may be seen beneath the plow. To the reverse is crimped a horizontal pin-back device and it is maker-marked "AU. BAUMEISTER, LUDENSCHEID." This tinnie is in outstanding condition. It would be hard to find a better one.

This is the SA 1939 Gruppe Kurpfalz Wettkampftage Badge Tinnie ("SA Gruppe Kurpfalz Wettkampftage 1939" Bakelitabzeichen). This tinnie is roughly 1.5" (38 mm) diameter, gray bakelite or proto-plastic badge. The badge depicts two SA men throwing stick bombs. The surrounding embossed text reads, "S-A-Gruppe Kurpfalz Gruppen. Wettkampftage 1939." The badge is maker-marked, "WALGO KIERSPE-BHF i/W, RZM, M 9/20." The pin-back is complete, but shows a period repair. Overall, a very clean and presentable tinnie.

This is a DLV Enamel Peaked Cap Badge (DLV Schirmmutzenabzeichen). This is a Type "A" insignia worn to the front of the visor cap band, in the form of a black enamel mobile swastika against an upright, silver propeller, to either side which extend three-tiered silver wings, with a span of 70 mm, all against a red enamel ring. To the reverse of each wing is a horizontal prong. The reverse is marked "H. DEUMER, LUDENSCHEID, GES.GESCH." Badge shows minimally wear and is extremely rare.

This is a Wehrmacht Heer Infantry Assault Badge in Silver (Infanteriesturmabzeichen in Silber). This is a mid-war (semi-hollow type) zinc Infantry Assault Badge in Silver. It is constructed of silvered fine zinc, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, diagonally across the badge is a Karabiner 98k rifle with the bayonet attached and the carrying sling hanging from the rifle. The reverse with a raised barrel hinge and vertical pin-back meeting a somewhat deformed wire catch. There is no maker's mark. The badge measures 47 mm (w) by 62 mm (h). This is the Iron Cross, Second Class 1939 (Eisernes Kreuz 1939 2. Klasse). The Iron Cross, Second Class was reinstituted 1 September 1939. (1939-1945 issue). It was constructed of iron and silver, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattee with a blackened magnetic iron core within a ribbed silver frame. The obverse with a central mobile swastika, the six o'clock arm with a reinstitution date of "1939." The reverse six o'clock arm with an initial institution date of "1813", the suspension loop is unmarked as to the maker. The cross measures 46 mm (w) by 46 mm (h), and weighs 20 grams. It comes with a piece of original ribbon and is in outstanding condition.

This is a standard issue membership badge awarded to all personnel on acceptance as an official party member. It is 23 mm diameter, die struck alloy badge NSDAP membership badge with multicolored enamel work. Badge features a translucent red, circular outer border with embossed silvered script, The badge features a red outer border, edged in silver, with the silver script, "NATIONAL-SOZIALISTISCHE-D.A.P.," encompassing a white field with a black mobile swastika, also edged in silver. To the reverse is a working horizontal pin. The reverse is unmarked except for "GES.GESCH." This badge is number in the Husken catalogue as "4011 b."

This is the Netherlands N.S.B. Five Year Service Stick Pin (Niederlande - Nationaal-Socialistische Beweging (NSB) Ehrenzeichen fur 5 jahrige Mitgliedschaft, an langer Nadel). This is the NSB Membership Badge (NSB Draagteken) for 5 years of service. No maker mark as appropriate, but is stamped with the member number "13000." The Dutch "Nationaal-Socialistische Beweging" (National Socialist Movement) was founded by Anton Mussert in December 1931 and was a Dutch pro-German Nazi Party. These membership badges were worn by party members who had 5 consecutive years of service. This stick pin is considered very rare. It is in excellent condition with good enamel and gilt finish. This badge is a slightly convex, two piece die stuck alloy construction badge with a multicolored enamel and nickel/silver plated finish. HJ diamond superimposed over crossed rifles affixed riveted to the center. Reverse with embossed RZM logo and manufacturers code, "M1/63," for "Steinhauer & Luck, Ludenscheid." The pin back device is intact to the reverse. The badge is in good condition with one minor enamel chip. The HJ Marksman's badge, the first and lowest class badge, was awarded to qualifying HJ members over the age of fourteen for proficiency in target shooting, with small caliber rifles. This is the "BDM" League of German Girls Proficiency Silver Clasp (BDM Leistungsabzeichen in Silber). This girl's clasp is approximately 23 mm by 14 mm with silver letters "BDM" within a rectangular box. The insignia is mounted over a red and white ribbon. The reverse has a four digit member's number "42594" and is also maker-marked "M1/15 RZM" for "Ferdinand Hoffstatter, Bonn am Rhein." The pin-back is complete and is in extremely fine condition. BDM Silver Clasps are extremely rare and very difficult to find. The has an accompanying certificate from the dealer valuing it at $700.00. This is the RAD Long Service Award, 4th Class (Reichsarbeitsdienst RAD fur 4 Jahre). This medal was instituted 30 January 1938 (1938-1943 issue). It is constructed of Bronzed Cupal (or bronzed aluminum), on a loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath. The obverse with a central mobile swastika inside of wheat stalks, the reverse with an inscription of "FUR TREUE DIENSTE IM REICHSARBEITSDIENST" ("FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE IN THE REICH LABOR SERVICE"). The loop is unmarked, and it measures 33 mm (w) by 45 mm (h). There is some very minor loss of finish evident to the reverse of the medal, but it is in overall near extremely fine condition.

The nicely detailed badge features a cutout, high relief Wehrmacht styled eagle with down-swept wings positioned above a crossed bayonet and stick grenade, and encompassed by an embossed, vertically oval, oak-leaf wreath. The reverse is complete with pin and catch assembly. No maker mark. Overall, a nice battle worn badge with 90% of the finish present.

A silver and enamel lapel pin, in the form of a 16 mm tall, vertical oval, along whose base extend sprays of laurels. Against the white enamel backdrop of the oval is a black, stylized eagle, articulated in silver, with "D.D.A.C.," also in silver, across its breast, and in whose talons is clutched the translucent red, circular surround to a black, mobile swastika. This is the Wehrmacht Day "Tag der Wehrmacht" Plastic Tinnie (Tag der Wehrmacht Kunststoffabzeichen). One of the most common ways to raise funds in the Third Reich was by organizing events called "The Days of..." and which could be very varied. Here you can see a high quality plastic tinnie commemorating Army Day, "Tag der Wehrmacht." It represents a bust of a German soldier with a helmet on some oak leaves, painted in gold, without manufacturer's mark. It measures approximately 1.25 inches (32 mm) by 1 inch (25.4 mm) with no scratches or wear. The condition has to be mint.

This stick pin is constructed out of a die stamped nickel-silver base that has been silver plated a contains black paint work. The obverse features a winged mallet hammer with a static swastika to its head. The full back reverse has an attached knurled stickpin and unmarked as to the maker. This is a 3.5 cm x 1.5 cm brass and enamel brooch with a hinged pin to the reverse. This is the membership brooch for what became the NSDAP party in Czechoslovakia. The enamel is in white, red, blue, and black. Across the top of the shield is inscribed "VLASTI ZDAR" meaning "Homeland for the Free" with a large NS in the center. It is maker-marked to the reverse "KARNST-KYSELY PRAHA XI." This is the second form of this badge and very collectable. The obverse is imprinted with a large "S" and the slogan "Ick dien" translates "I serve." This small zinc badge is in excellent condition. I purchased it in 2000 from AAG International.

This is the Gau Sud-Hannover Braunschweig Adolf Hitler patriotic badge. It is constructed of silvered bronze (very heavy) with a working vertical pin-back. The reverse is maker marked, "PAULMANN & CRONE, LUDENSCHEID & GES.GESCH." It measures 35 mm in diameter and is in near mint condition. It would be hard to find a cleaner or nicer one than this.

It is silvered tombac and measuring 48.3 mm by 19 mm. It is maker-marked to the reverse "DESCHLER MUNCHEN, GES.GESCH." This stick pin is in fantastic condition and worthy of any collection.

This is the Identification Tag for a Member of the Sicherheits-und Hilfsdienst (Erkennungsmarke: Sicherheits und Hilfsdienst, VI 10 1253 SHD). This is an aluminum Identification Tag with stamp "VI 10 1253 SHD" for a member of the Luftwaffe Sicherheits-und Hilfsdienst (security and assistance service). The tag is stamped on both sides of the triple slotted disc. There are three drill holes for attachment. It measures 70 mm by 50 mm. The reverse is unmarked and smooth. It is extremely clean and in lightly worn fine condition.

This is the Identification Tag for the Commander of the Gendarmerie in Oldenburg with Original Cord (Erkennungsmarke fur den Kommandanten der Gendarmerie in Oldenburg mit Kordel). This is the zinc identification tag with original cord for the Commander of the Gendarmerie (military police) in the city of Oldenburg. This tag is constructed of silvered fine zinc, perforated with three eye-lets, bearing a double-stamped inscription of "Kdr.d. Gend. Oldenburg(Oldb.)," with an identity number of "20." The reverse is unmarked. It measures 70 mm (w) by 50 mm (h). This id tag is a very rare one and in extremely fine condition.

This is a "ARBEITS DANK" RAD Membership Pin (Arbeitsdienst - Arbeitsdank Abzeichen). This pin is roughly, 22 mm tall, 15 mm wide, vertically oval, die struck alloy lapel pin with multicolored enamel work. The pin features a translucent red outer border with an underlying textured background with inlaid silvered script, "ARBEITS DANK". The red outer border encompasses a white inner oval with a silver bordered, black spade head with a canted, central, swastika. The spade handle is flanked by diagonally angled sheaves of wheat. Marked with embossed script, "Ges. Gesch.", indicating, Gesetzlich Geschutzt (Protected by Law). The reverse has its vertical pin back device. I purchased it in 2000 from Sherwood Antiques in New Zealand.

This is a Wehrmacht Heer Crimea Campaign Shield 1941-1942 (Wehrmacht Heer Krimschild) on field gray cloth backing. It is a bronzed fine zinc Type B shield in good condition. It does not glow under blacklight and it has some patina to the front from age. I purchased it in 1993 from Hellenic Trumpet Militaria in Wellington, New Zealand. "Forman's Guide to Third Reich German Awards & Documents, Volume 1" currently values this Badge at $170.00 (page 273).

This is an NSDAP Sympathy Stick Pin (Nationalsozialistische Sympathie-Abzeichen - Hakenkreuz, Blechausfuhrung, 10 mm). This stick pin measures 10 mm with a high swastika and is nonmetallic. These stick pins were from the early fighting period. There are no markings to the pin and it is in excellent condition.

This is the 1934 Alfeld "Homefest" Tinnie (Heimatfest Alfeld / L. 1934 Abzeichen). This is the 1934 Alfeld Heimatfest badge and it is made in stamped bronze. The reverse has a horizontal working pin back and is unmarked as to a maker. It measures 58 mm by 29 mm. This tinnie is extremely fine condition and fairly rare.

This is the 1933 SA Dusseldorf Schlageter Day Tinnie (1933 SA Dusseldorf Schlageter Tag Blechabzeichen). This tinnie is approximately 30 mm by 50 mm die-stamped alloy badge in bronze wash. The badge depicts an Albert Leo Schlageter memorial in the shape of a cross with the text "SCHLAGETER" to its base. Behind the memorial is a canted swastika in the clutch of a stylized political eagle. The embossed text reads, "28.5.1933, Dusseldorf." It is complete with pin back device. The reverse is maker-marked to "Paulmann & Crone, Ludenscheid." This tinnie is extremely fine condition.

This is the French Membership Badges Legion Francaise des Combattants (L.C.F.) Lapel Badge (Frankreich 2. Weltkrieg Vichy Regierung, Mitgliedsabzeichen der "Legion francaise des combattants"). This is the "Legion Francaise des Combattants" or "French Combatants Legion" was formed in 1940 that consisted mainly of veterans supporting Marshal Petain. They were only allowed in the unoccupied zone with 1.5 million members in 1942. This shield shaped, metal alloy and red, white, and blue enamel lapel badge, measures approximately 1.5 cm by 2.5 cm with a simple hinge pin to the reverse. It is maker marked "BERAUDY VAURE AMBERT., J. DECAT ABREST VICHY" (with sword for Legionnaire) (Husken catalogue J8 14 a.).

This is a Front of the Sudeten German Homeland (SHF) membership stick pin. A Sudetendeutsche Heimatfront membership badge being the type similar to the standard red enamel badges, but being shield shaped with blue enamel and lettering SHF instead of the standard SP badge. It is constructed of silvered bronze with blue enamels. The reverse is unmarked as to a maker and it measures 9 mm (w) by 16 mm (h), This is a fairly rare early membership pin and it is in extremely fine condition (Husken catalogue B8 9 b.)

This badge for the Alsace Lorraine area is constructed of silvered bronze, The obverse consisting of a white enameled disc, overlaid by a red enameled mobile swastika, within a ring of black enamel bearing a silvered inscription of "D.V.G. WESTMARK (LOTHR.)." The reverse is maker marked "W. REDO, SAARLAUTERN," with a working horizontal pinback. The badge measuring 23.90 mm in diameter, weighing 4.9 grams, in extremely fine condition. This is an early badge and a difficult one to find.
